This bridal editorial happened to be one of my main projects as a photo design student in mid 2021. Its title „l’apparence“ is French and means „appearance“ – as the main character in this story is just an appearance of a bride. I intentionally created a series of images that is different from the mainstream bridal dress pictures which are very clean, almost no emotion and flashed the hell out of them.
My main inspiration for this editorial was David Hamilton. To be precise it was his book about the dancers „La Danse“. As I saw the book the first time in my vacation in France I immediately had a vision of a bride. I don’t know why but I think the Hamilton-Style fits a wedding perfectly.
